CCC Softball Athletes of the Week #6

Player of the Week

Amanda Riley, Salve Regina (Sr., SS)

Salve Regina senior shortstop Amanda Riley (Barrington, N.H.) hit safely in each of the Seahawks' five games to the tune of a .421 batting average (8-for-19), with two doubles, two home runs, five RBI, and four runs scored, without striking out a single time. Riley collected four hits and a pair of RBI in a doubleheader split with CCC rival Western New England and chipped in three more hits in a conference split with Nichols. Her weekly .857 slugging percentage in CCC play raised her conference-only mark to a league-best .791. The Seahawks are 9-3 in their last 12 games.

Pitcher of the Week

Maggie Oram, Endicott (Jr., P)

Endicott junior Maggie Oram (Lexington, Mass.) posted a 3-0 weekly record with one save over four appearances in an 8-0 week for the Gulls, good for a 1.67 ERA. Against CCC competition, Oram turned her game up a notch, picking up complete game victories over Western New England and Roger Williams and tossing a scoreless, hitless inning in a 5-4 win over UNE to earn a save. In 14 innings of conference play, Oram allowed just two earned runs on six hits and two walks, while fanning nine, good for a 1.00 ERA. For the entire week, Orem tossed 21 innings, allowing five earned runs on 12 hits and three walks, while striking out 21. The Gulls improved to a perfect 10-0 in CCC competition and 12-1 in their last 13 games.

Rookie of the Week

Taylor Depot, University of New England (Fr., SS)

University of New England freshman shortstop Taylor Depot (Auburn, Maine) batted .471 (8-for-17) with one double, five RBI, five runs scored, and a stolen base as the Nor'easters posted a 4-2 weekly record. After posting a three-hit game in the first of a doubleheader sweep of Plymouth State, Depot continued swinging a hot bat against CCC opponents, picking up two hits and three RBI in a doubleheader against Endicott and adding three hits and two RBI in a sweep of Wentworth. Depot hit safely in five of UNE's six games and reached base in all six.
