CCC Men's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week #6

Offensive Player of the Week

Tim Breau, Western New England (Jr., A)

Junior Tim Breau (Lima, N.Y.) scored four points in each of Western New England’s conference wins this week against Curry and the University of New England. In a 15-8 win against the Colonels, Breau set a career-high with four assists. He then added two goals and two assists in a 12-9 win against the Nor’easters.


Defensive Player of the Week

Mike Mongelli, Salve Regina (Jr., D)

Junior Mike Mongelli (Roslyn, N.Y.) helped Salve Regina to an 11-8 conference win this week against Roger Williams. The Seahawks defender had seven ground balls and two caused turnovers in that contest.


Rookie of the Week

Pat Leary, Salve Regina (Fr., A)

Freshman Pat Leary (Wakefield, Mass.) played a part in five of Salve Regina’s 11 goals in an 11-8 conference win over Roger Williams. He scored four goals and registered one assist in the contest. One of his goals came in a man-up situation. Defensively, Leary grabbed two ground balls in the game.


Specialist of the Week

Derek Yannone, Endicott (Jr., FOM)

Junior Derek Yannone (Lynnfield, Mass.) won 70.2 percent (33-for-47) of his faceoff opportunities this week as Endicott went 1-1. He also had double digit ground ball games in both contests. In a non-conference loss to Bates, Yannone was 17-for-24 (70.8 percent) at the X, while scooping up 11 ground balls. In a conference win over Wentworth, he was successful on 16 of 23 (69.6 percent) of his faceoff chances and grabbed 10 ground balls.



The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), founded in 1984, is an NCAA Division III athletic conference comprised of ten full member and four associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The conference administers championships in 18 intercollegiate sports.
