The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has released the Spring 2013 Academic All-Conference Team, and it includes 299 student-athletes from the conference's 10 member institutions that participated in a winter and/or spring CCC sponsored sport. The Academic All-Conference honor rewards varsity student-athletes who attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher. The Spring Academic All-Conference Team encompasses student-athletes who participated in the sports of baseball, men's and women's basketball, golf, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, and men's tennis.
Of the honorees, 79 were either first team, second team, or honorable mention All-CCC selections in their sport.
Also noteworthy is that the Athlete(s) of the Year in six of the CCC winter and spring sports received Academic All-Conference laurels, including men's basketball Defensive Player of the Year Hans Miersma (Gordon), women's basketball Defensive Player of the Year Kaitlyn Birrell (Salve Regina), men's lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year Adam Knapton (Western New England), men's lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year Sam Ozycz (Endicott), women's lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year Holly Davis (Endicott), softball Pitcher of the Year Nell O'Connor (Endicott), softball Player of the Year Lauren Tierney (Roger Williams), men's tennis Player of the Year Zack Bussiere (Roger Williams), and men's Tennis Rookie of the Year Zach Hall (Gordon).
