SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Four Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men’s lacrosse student-athletes were selected as All-America honorable mention performers by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) when the teams were announced earlier this month.
CCC Tournament Champions Western New England had three representatives on this year’s list as Steven Kerr (Hopkinton, Mass.), Nick Gamba (East Islip, N.Y.,), and Oskar Djusberg (Abington, Mass.). Endicott had one representative in Grant Garrity (Duxbury, Mass.).
GRANT GARRITY, ENDICOTT – ALL-AMERICA HONORABLE MENTION
In 18 games played for the Gulls this season, Garrity recorded 37 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers (ranked No. 7 in conference). Garrity also aided Endicott to the best goals against average (GAA) in conference play at 7.09, and the fewest goals allowed (57) among all teams in league action.
OSKAR DJUSBERG, WESTERN NEW ENGLAND – ALL-AMERICA HONORABLE MENTION
Djusberg collects All-America honors after being named to the All-CCC Second Team for the second straight season. The BC High product ranked second on the team in ground balls (65) and third in caused turnovers (21) while chipping in offensively with eight points (six goals, two assists).
NICK GAMBA, WESTERN NEW ENGLAND – ALL-AMERICA HONORABLE MENTION
Gamba was named the CCC Offensive Player of the Year following a breakout campaign in which he recorded 55 points with 33 goals and 22 assists. He was a consistent contributor with at least one point in all 20 contests, and he posted 16 multi-point efforts.
STEVEN KERR, WESTERN NEW ENGLAND – ALL-AMERICA HONORABLE MENTION
Kerr received his third straight All-CCC nod with his selection to the First Team this spring. He posted career-bests with a 9.93 goals against average and a 55.6 save percentage, while racking up 10-plus saves on 12 occasions.
