CCC Men's Ice Hockey Athletes of the Week #10

Player of the Week

Brady Fleurent, University of New England (Sr., F)

Senior forward Brady Fleurent (Biddeford, Maine) recorded eight points in the University of New England's 3-0 week. He scored three goals and five assists, with all three tallies and two of the helpers coming in conference play. He opened the week with a trio of assists in a 4-1 non-conference win over Colby. He then scored two goals in the opener of his team's CCC series against Becker, an 8-2 win. He closed out the week with a goal and two assists as the Nor'easters shutout the Hawks, 6-0.

Goaltender of the Week

Ryan Bonnvie, Wentworth (Fr., G)

Freshman goaltender Ryan Bonnvie (Falmouth, Maine) improved to 3-0 this season and picked up his first career CCC win. He made 35 stops in a 4-3 decision against No. 14/15 Salve Regina. Fifteen of his saves came in the third period as he opened the door for his team to come back from a 3-1 deficit against the Seahawks.

Rookie of the Week

Jake McKenelley, Wentworth (Fr., F)

Freshman Jake McKenelley (Middleton, Mass.) had five points in Wentworth's 1-1 week, which featured a CCC split with No. 14/15 Salve Regina. He scored both goals in the Leopards' 5-2 loss and then factored into three of his teams' four goals in the back-end of the home-and-home series. He had a pair of assists and then netted the game-winning goal with 29 seconds left in regulation to elevate Wentworth to victory. All three of his goals came on special teams with two coming on the power play and the other shorthanded.

The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), founded in 1984, is an NCAA Division III athletic conference comprised of nine full member and one associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The conference administers championships in 18 intercollegiate sports.
