Endicott Completes Day One of NCAA Golf Championships Tied for 35th Place


HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Golf Champion Endicott competed in the first day of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. on Tuesday. The Gulls currently sit in a tie for 35th place out of 42 teams after 18-holes.

As a team, Endicott shot a plus-38 326 led by CCC Golfer of the Year, Athan Goulos (Peabody, Mass.), who checked in with a score of 78 (+6). Carter Knox (Hinesburg, Vt.) was next in line with a first round score of 80 (+8), followed by Drew Benshoff (Concord, Mass.) at 82 (+10). Ben Palazzo (Farmington, Conn.) and Dan Negus (Pembroke, Mass.) both carded 86s (+14).

Endicott will play its second round tomorrow morning. After the second round tomorrow, the field of 42 will be cut down to the top 18 teams and the top six individuals not on those teams.



The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), founded in 1984, is an NCAA Division III athletic conference comprised of ten full member and three associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The conference currently administers championships in 16 intercollegiate sports with that number set to increase next year with the addition of football.
