Keith Brown, Endicott (So., G)
Sophomore Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) had a record-setting week for Endicott as his 53 points against Roger Williams set the Endicott single-game mark for scoring. His total was also the highest single-game performance in the history of the CCC (based on available information). Brown’s 53-point showing is the third highest single-game scoring total in the NCAA (all divisions). In the 114-109 overtime victory, Brown shot 52.9 percent (18-for-34) and added eight rebounds, three steals, and two assists. He also had a strong game earlier in the week putting up 28 points and grabbing six rebounds in a conference loss to Gordon. For the week, he averaged 40.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.
Rookie of the Week
Zach Tavitian, Western New England (Fr., F)
Western New England’s Zach Tavitian (Milford, Conn.) averaged 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game this week, including his first career double-double. After posting 6- and 11-point performances against Endicott and Curry, respectively, Tavitian registered 29 points against the University of New England. He shot 12-for-18 (66.7 percent) from the field in that game and grabbed 10 rebounds. He had a trio of blocks against both Endicott and UNE.
ABOUT THE COMMONWEALTH COAST CONFERENCE
The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), founded in 1984, is an NCAA Division III athletic conference comprised of ten full member and four associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The conference will administer championships in 18 intercollegiate sports starting in the 2017-18 academic year.
